By default, using txt.me mobile or desktop software, you should see a notification for each message you receive. We deliberately avoid sending them in some cases, but sometimes it can be a sign of trouble. Follow reading this article for more details.
Did any operator see the message?
We avoid sending notifications when someone from your team has read the message. Also, as we have mobile and desktop software that work parallel to each other, you shouldn’t receive notifications on your mobile phone if you have the same chat open on your desktop and vice versa.
Remember that the txt.me window should be active, in focus, and opened on the conversation to mark the message as read.
If you, on other devices, or another operator has read the message, then the notification should disappear automatically from all the operators’ devices.
Low battery mode
Depending on the device you are using, it can not show the notifications if it is in power-saving mode. Therefore, if you have this mode enabled or your battery is low, we suggest first charging the battery and/or turn off the power-saving mode if possible.
Network issues
Some network providers, especially cell phone operators or public free wifi points of access, may restrict the push notifications. Try to change the network and make sure there is no firewall or any other traffic filtering installed.
Also, changing networks may cause your phone to lose the connection to the notifications server, and rebooting the phone and the txt.me app can help re-establish it.
Notifications are disabled
Despite how simple it sounds, it may be just that the txt.me notifications are disabled on your mobile phone. Make sure you have them enabled for the txt.me app in its settings. Refer to the phone’s manual to find where the notifications can be turned on and off for each app. Don’t forget to update your iOS and Android version.
For macOS and iPhone: System Preferences > Notifications > txt.me > Allow Notifications
Do not disturb or silent mode
Depending on the phone manufacturer, some or all notifications may be disabled in Do not disturb mode. If anything like that is enabled on your phone while having troubles receiving the notifications, try to disable it.
Nothing above worked in my case
