How to add live chat to your website Joomla

Installation live chat txt.me on Joomla

Your free Joomla live chat txt.me plugin is ready to use.

To add the chat widget to your website, sign up with txt.me. If you already have an account, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: In the admin panel click the “Manage > Install”

First, log in to your Joomla’s administration panel (https://your website/administrator/) and click on Extensions, available on the top right section. From there, pick Manage > Install.

Step 2: Search (on the Web) for onWebChat Joomla extension

On the Install section, go to the Install from Web category.

Step 3: Click on the txt.me

From the list of available plugins, look for Live Chat txt.me. To make things easier, type “omnichannel” or “txt” in the search tool and click on the Search button. All you have to do now is to click on the txt.me card, available in the search results below.

Step 4: Install it

You will see a txt.me installation page. To proceed with the installation, click on the Install button.

Step 5: Click on the Install button

Joomla will now redirect you to a page where you have to confirm your installation. To do that, as odd as it may sound, you have to once again click on the Install button.

Configuration

Step 1: Go to the Modules section

To configure the txt.me plugin, go to the Modules section.

Step 2: Click on the Enable extension icon

From the list of available modules, look for txt.me and click on the Enable extension icon to enable the extension.

Step 3: Select the spot opposite in the Position field

While in the Modules section, look for txt.me and click on the plugin to proceed with the configuration.

Step 4: Select status

Make sure the status is “Published”

Step 5: Select “on all pages”

It is necessary to set the value in the Menu Assignment tab. If you choose “on all pages” then the chat will be installed on all pages of the site automatically.

Step 6: Click on “Authorization via txt.me admin panel”

To link your txt.me account with Joomla, click on “Authorization via txt.me admin panel” button.

Step 7: Sign in txt.me

You will be shown a new window, asking you to log into txt.me. To proceed, provide your txt.me credentials and click on Sign in.

Step 8: Choose your the widget

It’s time to choose the widget that you want to place on the site.

Step 9: Click on Save

Step 10: Done

Now you can see the chatbox in the bottom right corner of your website.

How to quickly check to see if the chat is working

Step 1: Go to admin panel txt.me

Access your app panel (https://app.txt.me) to check if the live chat is working for your customers. Ask one of your customer support team to send a message from the chatbox. Then, make sure that you receive it on your ​​Web Version txt.me.
